Havnby vs NovaPads: Is the Deeper Mattress Worth $360 More?

Havnby FlatCore adds a deeper shaped profile and longer warranty. NovaPads Air-Foam Pro cuts the price to $239 while keeping a full-width air-foam format and current Juniper and Model X choices.

What this comparison can and cannot establish

This comparison uses current seller specifications and attributed public sources. We have not completed a matched hands-on test of both products, so unmeasured fit, comfort, noise and durability remain unknown.

Havnby buys more depth and warranty. NovaPads wins the price comparison.

FlatCore is the better-defined Model Y specialist: 19 cm maximum depth, 12V pump, 60-day trial and three-year warranty for $599. Air-Foam Pro is the stronger budget option at $239, with a 4.5-inch profile, built-in 12V pump and Model Y, Juniper and Model X selections. Choose from fit, headroom and return risk rather than an unsupported universal ranking.

Havnby vs NovaPads specifications

The two products publish the same 193 × 132 cm footprint, but that does not make them interchangeable. FlatCore uses a shaped 19 cm maximum profile intended for Model Y slope correction. Air-Foam Pro publishes a uniform 4.5-inch air-foam construction and offers a wider vehicle selector.

Price and value: two different tiers

On 23 July 2026, NovaPads’ $239 list price was $360 below Havnby’s $599 list price before tax and shipping. No Havnby code is subtracted. The higher Havnby price corresponds to a deeper shaped profile, longer warranty and advertised sleep trial; those differences do not establish better comfort for every sleeper.

NovaPads is easier to justify for occasional use or a first Tesla-camping setup. The lower price leaves room for privacy screens, bedding and ventilation gear. FlatCore makes more sense when correcting the Model Y seat slope is the first requirement and the buyer wants a clearly documented maximum and minimum profile.

Thickness is also a headroom decision

FlatCore reaches 7.5 inches at its thickest point, compared with 4.5 inches for Air-Foam Pro. Extra depth can create more room for foam and shaped support, but it also lifts the sleeper closer to the rear glass and roof. Side sleepers may value pressure room; anyone who wants to sit up inside the car may prefer the lower profile.

Both sellers describe slope correction. Havnby publishes the shaped depth range. NovaPads describes a high-density foam structure intended to compensate for the rear-seat slope. We have not measured either installed angle, so the comparison stays with published construction rather than declaring a perfect-flatness winner.

Setup speed and pump ownership

Both current products depend on the vehicle’s 12V supply. Havnby quotes 80 seconds to inflate and 90 seconds to deflate. NovaPads quotes 50 seconds for setup and 60 seconds for storage. These timings come from the sellers and were not recorded under the same temperature, pressure or packing method.

A built-in pump reduces loose equipment, but it also makes pump durability part of mattress ownership. Test a complete cycle at home, keep the cable accessible and read the warranty process before travel. Neither page should claim a failure rate without comparable product-level data.

Model Y versus Model X fit

FlatCore is a Model Y product with separate year-range choices. Air-Foam Pro currently lists Model Y Juniper, Model Y and Model X. A seller selector is useful evidence of intended fit, but buyers should still confirm the exact vehicle year and seat configuration.

For Model X shoppers, NovaPads is the relevant product in this pair. Havnby’s cross-model alternative is CloudCore, not FlatCore. Our Model X mattress guide compares those current options without pretending the Model Y FlatCore is a direct fit.

Warranty and return terms

Havnby advertises a three-year warranty and a 60-day sleep trial. NovaPads publishes a one-year warranty and 30-day return policy. NovaPads requires returned products to remain unused, undamaged and in resalable condition for non-quality returns, and buyers may pay return shipping. Read the live conditions before opening or inflating either mattress.

The longer Havnby term reduces one type of ownership risk. NovaPads offsets some of that difference with a much lower purchase price. Decide which risk matters more: initial spend, compatibility uncertainty or longer-term component coverage.

Which one belongs on your shortlist?

Choose Havnby FlatCore when

  • You have a Model Y and want the seller-published 7.9–19 cm shaped profile rather than NovaPads’ uniform 11 cm listing.
  • You value Havnby’s seller-advertised 60-day trial and three-year warranty over NovaPads’ 30-day return period and one-year warranty.
  • You can accept the 5.08 kg weight and 19 cm maximum profile for the deeper slope-support design.
  • The $599 list price observed on 23 July fits the budget without assuming a code.

Choose NovaPads Air-Foam Pro when

  • The dated $239 list price and $360 gap versus FlatCore are decisive.
  • The 11 cm profile preserves more cabin height than FlatCore’s 19 cm maximum.
  • You need a seller-listed Model X or Juniper option; FlatCore is Model Y only.
  • You prefer the seller-listed 50-second setup claim and accept the shorter warranty and stricter return conditions.
Evidence checked: current Havnby FlatCore listing, NovaPads Air-Foam Pro listing, and the manufacturers’ warranty and return pages on 23 July 2026. No hands-on fit or durability test was performed.

Use the exact vehicle variant and dated price basis

For Havnby, use the $599 observation only as a dated reference, then confirm Havnby’s live total and terms. For NovaPads, open the Air-Foam Pro listing and confirm the vehicle variant, shipping, tax and return eligibility.
