Which Tesla does it fit?

The product title, the product handle and the catalog tag all name one vehicle: Tesla Model Y L. No standard Model Y, Model 3, Model S or Model X option appears on this listing. Havnby sells a separate DreamShade shade for the standard Model Y and Model 3 under its own handle, priced at $69–$99 across five variants on 29 September 2026. The two are not interchangeable.

Havnby publishes no per-window measurement for the Model Y L: no width, height or glass area. The other shade makers we checked (EVANNEX and another accessory store) sell for the standard Model Y and do not name the Model Y L at all. The $109 price equals the compare-at price, so there is no markdown on this SKU.

What the kit covers

Havnby's written description lists five short claims: custom cabin coverage, a darker rest space, more privacy, heat control and easy storage. The spec block states an 8-piece full set but does not name the pieces in words. Havnby's own product photography does that instead. One diagram, printed on the storage pouch, shows four shade shapes: a windshield piece, a small door-mirror-area piece, a rear cargo-window piece and a rectangular side-window piece. A separate marketing graphic in the same catalog listing labels eight shade pieces: a front windshield curtain, a back windshield curtain, two front side window curtains, two triangle side window curtains and two rear side window curtains, plus a zip storage bag.

The piece names come from Havnby’s images; no length, width or thickness is given for any piece.

How it attaches

Havnby's written listing claims an install time within 5 minutes and says no tools are needed. It does not describe how the shade pieces hold onto the glass or frame. No suction cup, magnet, clip or hook word appears in the product description. The printed pouch diagram gives the only clue. It shows a single hook icon behind the rearview-mirror area for the windshield piece, and hook icons at the corners of the rear cargo-window piece. That points to a hook-and-drape design rather than the suction cups EVANNEX uses on its standard Model Y kit, but Havnby has not confirmed it in writing or published a clip count.

Darkness, privacy and heat for sleeping

Havnby's own bullet points frame this product for rest, not only for sun. The 29 September 2026 listing says the shade "Blocks light for easier naps and overnight sleep" and "Helps reduce outside visibility into the cabin." Its use-case list names car camping privacy, daytime naps and parked overnight stays, which aims the product at car campers who sleep inside the Model Y L.

Havnby lists a "Heat control" bullet ("Helps limit direct sun exposure while parked") and a "Light and Heat Control" claim, but it publishes no temperature-drop figure for this shade. EVANNEX, by contrast, states an average 25°F cooler cabin and a 40°F difference in some conditions for its standard Model Y shade, without a published method.

How it compares with the standard Model Y market

EVANNEX sells the most detailed shade page found for this search topic. Its full kit, covering the windshield, sunroof and every side window on a standard Model Y, costs $328.95. Single pieces cost $59.95 to $79.95 depending on the part and color. EVANNEX states a metalized-polyester film laminated to closed-cell foam, black cloth-bound edges, a lifetime-replacement warranty, and suction-cup or sun-visor mounting. Those figures describe a different vehicle and vendor.

At $109.00, the Havnby DreamShade Model Y L kit costs less than the full EVANNEX kit ($328.95) and more than any single EVANNEX piece ($59.95–$79.95), while covering eight pieces for one flat price. Havnby names only “UV-blocking polyester fabric”, so quality cannot be compared on paper.
