The reality for tall Tesla campers
The folded sleeping area in a Tesla Model Y is approximately 190 cm long with the front seats slid fully forward. Sleepers up to 6'2" (188 cm) fit comfortably. Above that, you'll be in trouble β your feet press against the trunk wall or your head rests against the front seat backs.
The mattress itself adds another constraint: most are 187-190 cm long. The Snuuzu Model Y at 190 cm uses every inch. Anything shorter (TESMAT Solo at 175 cm) leaves your feet hanging over the edge.
Tall-friendly Tesla mattresses by length
- Snuuzu Model Y β 190 cm: Maximum length, recommended for 6'-6'3"
- TESMAT Luxe Y β 189 cm: Strong second pick
- Havnby Autolevel β 187 cm: Slightly short for 6'2"+ but self-levels
- Avoid: Any mattress under 185 cm if you're over 6'
Why Model X wins for very tall sleepers
If you're 6'4" (193 cm) or taller, the Tesla Model X is the only model that fits comfortably. With the second and third row folded, you get over 200 cm of sleeping length β diagonal arrangement available for even longer sleepers.
Setup tips for tall users
Slide both front seats fully forward (yes, even if you don't need to). Remove the headrests β they create a 5cm gap where your head wants to be. Choose a foam mattress over air-foam hybrid: foam supports lower back pressure better when the body fully extends. See our full guide for height-specific picks.
