Is the Model Y wide enough for two?
The Tesla Model Y sleeping surface is approximately 42 inches wide at its narrowest point (between the rear wheel wells) and up to 46 inches at the widest. A standard US "Double" bed is 54 inches wide and a "Twin" is 38 inches, putting the Model Y in between. Two average-sized adults fit, but it will feel cozier than a hotel bed.
Length is rarely an issue: 75 inches accommodates anyone up to roughly 6'2" comfortably. Above that, your feet will press against the trunk wall.
What to look for in a couples mattress
- Wide enough to fully cover the floor β gaps are uncomfortable for both partners
- Foam, not air β air mattresses transfer movement and one partner will wake the other
- At least 4 inches thick β thinner mattresses telegraph seat seams
- Self-leveling β the slight forward slope is more noticeable with two people
Top picks for couples
The Snuuzu Model Y at 107 cm wide and 10 cm foam is the most-recommended couples' mattress in our testing. Havnby Autolevel at 19 cm thick and self-leveling is the runner-up, particularly for partners with different weights. Avoid TESMAT Solo (single-person only).
